Vancouver Wedding Photographer

Need one?

If so, you’re definitely in the right spot.

I’ve been a professional photographer for over ten years now and I’ve had the pleasure of capturing memories for hundreds of local weddings here in Vancouver and the surrounding areas.

Your wedding will most likely be the biggest day of your life, and you want photographs that you can appreciate and cherish for years to come.

We know that choosing a photographer for your special day can be a long and painstaking process, and should not be rushed. You need someone who matches your style, and does the type of photography you like. AND you should like the person too.

You don’t want someone who just takes pictures, you want someone who has a passion for photography, someone who captures stunning, creative images using only the best in equipment, like the Nikon d800 professional camera. We do that, and document all the emotions of the day: the tears, the joy, the laughter.

Responsibilities of Your Photographer

The  memories of the wedding day will stay with you forever, but the photographs captured that day will refresh your memory of all the details for years to come. It’s the photographers job to make sure the wedding couple has a huge selection of  photos to choose from – there is no excuse for not having a large selection.

In a traditional wedding, as opposed to a journalistic style wedding, the photographer normally takes photos of the bride and groom getting ready, the ceremony, the wedding couple, the couple with their families, with the wedding party, after the service, the reception, which includes the first dance, cutting of the cake, and more.

The bride will tell you the must have shots; some brides want all of the above. And, the photographer must make very sure he gets all the shots that the bride wants. Notice that I don’t mention the groom for most of these decisions, we all know who the boss is on the wedding day.

 Journalistic Style Wedding

For the journalistic style of photography, there is not so much emphasis on the traditional shots mentioned above. Actually, the bride may not want any of those types of pictures. The journalistic photographer is like a newspaper photographer, what they do is photograph everything as it unfolds. There will be little or no direction from the photographer.

However, it is up to the bride to communicate exactly what she wants. The decision to go journalistic style as opposed to traditional should be made when hiring a photographer. I think it’s safe to say that a good journalistic photographer could go either way, but a traditional shooter may have trouble with the journalistic style.

We love to make brides look and feel beautiful, and while we take our work seriously, we keep the atmosphere fun and relaxed. And no wonder, because there is nothing we would rather be doing than photographing YOUR wedding!

So why not give us a call so we can meet –  and discuss your special day!

I'm Not Your Typical Wedding Photographer...

Hire A Professional

Many people save money by having a friend or relative as their wedding photographer. It’s very tempting to do this because it will be very cheap, and it may even be free. Some times this works out quite well, sometimes it’s a disaster. My suggestion is to not take a chance on ruining your wedding

Free Engagement Session

We include a free engagement session with our weddings.  Most wedding photographers charge extra for this, but the way we see it, it benefits us also.  For the bride and groom, they will be more at ease on their wedding day; they will have spent an hour or more with my camera pointing at them.

We’re Here To Help

We are both highly experienced wedding photographers; you name it, it’s probably happened at one of the weddings we have photographed. You don’t need to stress about anything concerning photography, we look after any emergency.   Tweet

Two Photographers

Some wedding photographers work alone, but what if he became sick? What would you do then? We have 2 photographers for all weddings, and both are experienced wedding photographers. Another advantage of having 2 people is better coverage. For instance, one person does groups, the other, candids. Tweet

The Best Equipment

We use the latest Nikon digital cameras and lenses. It’s true that better cameras and lenses make for better photographs. Many lenses can be purchased for much less than the cost of a Nikon, but we think it’s worth it to buy the best. In fact, all our equipment is top notch, including backups.
